In 1998, Charles Strand and a group of private investors formed Sun Water Systems, Inc. (SWS) to design, produce, distribute and market a complete line of high efficiency home water products at factory direct values.

In 2001, Charles Strand purchased back all assets, patents and trademarks related to Equinox Water Systems from Equinox International and merged them into Sun Water Systems.
